We move our feet for vulnerable children.

In 2011, Brandon signed up to run the Chicago Marathon. Even though he’d never been a runner, he was inspired by the mission of Team World Vision and wanted to use his feet to help kids in need.

In 2012, he did it again! This time though, he stopped around mile 4 to propose to his girlfriend Danielle, causing a bit of spectacle.

In 2014, they ran together! Like Brandon, Danielle was also not a runner. She learned and they ran every step together.

And again in 2017. Through their (collective) six marathons with Team World Vision, Brandon and Danielle have helped provide clean water to over 400 children.

In 2020, they’d planned on taking on a new challenge…trading the familiar streets of Chicago for 26.2 miles through all 5 boroughs of New York City! Instead of cash fundraising, they committed to to finding sponsors for children. In spite or because of COVID-19, the Adairs help connect 20 sponsor kids to families.

This year, they try again to run NYC and to find sponsors for more kiddos in need. Please read on below to learn more about child sponsorship and how you can help!

what is child sponsorship?

World Vision’s child sponsorship program addresses the root causes of children’s vulnerability, empowering children, their families, and their communities to break free from poverty. WV works with the community to develop a plan, and then equips them with resources to address their specific challenges—like improving water and sanitation, health and nutrition, education, child protection, and spiritual nurture.
